[She hums loudly under her breath. Three years ago, she managed to get through to Elsa when everyone else insisted it'd be dangerous. Sure, it didn't work the first time, but that time she caught a sword for her? Worked. Still, Vaeros isn't exactly a relative of hers- of any of them.

Is it just Vaeros who rules this place? Does he not have family or friends? Or staff?

Family, friends, none that I know of.

[At least she's engaging with the problem rationally, even if he thinks her compassion may be misguided.]

He has what I understand to be a romantic obsession with the moon spirit, Yuraia, which led him to abduct her and hold her in his castle a few months ago. Beyond that, only underlings, apparently ruled by fear.

Hmmmm... If he really does have such strong feelings for the moon spirit, maybe she could talk some sense into him? But she probably would've tried that already, huh?

I imagine it came up at some point during her captivity, yes.

[He's actually more gentle than he has been up to this point when he continues-]

I understand the impulse to reconcile. It's... noble. But some people, some things, are beyond peace.

[Anna sighs. She thinks of her grandfather, who basically died mad, and of Hans, who showed no remorse.]

I... I know. I know some people are just rotten. I just wish they weren't, you know?

[He knows. Lord, he knows.]

If I might provide some note of comfort...

[He sighs, and his tone becomes a bit lighter.]

We've managed to reach him once, which means it's not inconceivable that we could do so again. And he seems to need us for something, which means we have power over him.

[He's not at all certain he believes it, but he's not strictly lying, either.]

It may be possible to remove him from power without... permanent measures, if we play our cards right.

[What he's saying does provide some comfort. It's optimism in the face of uncertain circumstances. It's an opportunity, a chance to make things right, however small it may be. So a faint smile returns to her face.]

Now that sounds like an option worth investigating. One step at a time, of course! We'll have to be careful. But a possibility is a possibility!
